Students used to get the lessons at the tutor’s home address, shoulder to shoulder.
This has been the usual procedure for many years and was highly appreciated by students. However, the long travel time to the tutor’s home address was perceived as a disadvantage. That is why the PiNUTS tutor was already providing online lessons via Zoom (via screen sharing) before the corona pandemia.
During the corona era, this form of teaching became standard and has remained so. Now only online lessons are given which is highly appreciated by students.
How does interactive tutoring using Zoom’s screen sharing work?
1. The tutor writes his notes on an iPad Pro 12.9 with an Apple Pencil.
2. The student is at home, but at the same moment these notes appear on the screen of his or her laptop, tablet or smartphone.
3. During the tutoring there is a continuous contact by an excellent audio connection. The tutor explains the notes, students can ask questions online and the tutor answers.
